The Kramer VP-729 scaler/switchers incorporate Silicon Optix HQV (Hollywood Quality Video) processing technology which represents the state of the art in video processing. With the HQV scaling technology, the Kramer VP-729 deliver the highest quality de-interlacing, noise reduction, and scaling performance available in the market today for both standard-definition and high-definition signals.

The Kramer VP-729 has significantly better image performance than the XL series through the incorporation of the Silicon Optix HQV technology. They also offer several user interface improvements derived directly from market feedback that enhance operational ease of use.
In addition to the VP-729 Kramer will soon be introducing many new exciting scaling products with HQV technology.

The Kramer VP-729 is a 9-input scaler/switcher for analog and digital video, unbalanced stereo, and S/PDIF audio signals. It scales any video signal (composite, s-Video (Y/C), component video (YUV), HDMI, computer graphics video and jpeg files) up or down to a selectable graphics or HDTV output resolution via HDMI or 15-pin HD outputs. It provides glitch-free switching between sources through FTB (fade-thru-black) switching technology.

• Silicon Optix HQV Video Processing - HQV (Hollywood Quality Video) processing represents the state-of-the-art in video processing technology, with the highest quality de-interlacing, noise reduction, and scaling performance for both standard-definition and high-definition signals.
• K-Storm Scaling Technology - Kramer's extremely high performance scaling technology. High quality 3:2 and 2:2 pull down de-interlacing and full up and down scaling of computer graphics video input signals.

• HDCP Compliant - The HDCP (High Definition Content Protection) license agreement allows copy-protected data on the HDMI input to pass only to the HDMI output.
• Fade-Thru-Black (FTB) Switching - The video fades to black and then the new input fades from black for smooth, glitch-free switching. The output signal provides constant sync so the display never glitches.
• K-IIT Picture-in-Picture Image Insertion Technology - Ultra-stable picture-in-picture image insertion capability. Any video source can be inserted into a computer graphics video source or vice versa (or two images can be placed) with positioning and sizing controls.
